Lake George is approximately 32 miles long and is nearly 2 miles wide. Much of the shore line, particularly the eastern shore, is unsettled. Due to the tight restrictions, through federally and state administered conservation efforts, it will forever remain so. The shoreline ranges from beautiful, quiet, sandy beaches to rocky crags, cliffs, marshes and tall hemlock stands.

GOLF
New visitors to the Lake George area are amazed by the number of golf courses
available to them. Within a fifteen mile radius of Lake George there are over fifteen public golf courses and amazingly 111 holes. If you like the challenge of long narrow fairways, tricky doglegs and bunkeredgreens then try The Sagamore, Hiland Park, Kingswood or Brookhaven golf courses. The Queensbury Country Club, Tee Bird and Cronins golf courses offer a slightly more forgiving yet challenging round of play. The Top Of The World course offers 9 more holes with spectacular mountain top views of Lake George. Bay Meadows is a good course for golfers of all ages. Beginners and young adults will enjoy the very relaxed pitch and putt fairways of The Sunnyside Par Three golf course. Green Mansions Moteland 1,000 Acres Ranch offer their own golf courses. The commonality between all of these courses is their splendid views of the Adirondacks. All of these courses are well maintained with plentiful trees which provide ample shade for those hot summer days. It is recommended that you make your tee time reservations in advance.
